Wildfire Evacuation Orders/Alerts Grow

Jul 11, 2017 | 5:48 AM

More people near the Princeton Fire have been placed on an evacuation order.

The Okanagan-Similkameen Regional District last evening added 49 homes along Princeton Summerland Road north of Princeton.

They had been on an Evacuation Alert since July 7th .

Roads within the Order area include Hembrie Mountain Rd, Jura Station Road, Baker Hill Rd and a specific portion of Princeton Summerland Rd.

Princeton Summerland Road will be controlled by the RCMP from 1785 Princeton Summerland Rd to Hembrie Moutain Rd.

There is no guarantee that access will be allowed to this section of Princeton Summerland Rd while the mandatory Evacuation Order is in effect.

This leaves 350 homes north of Princeton evacuated.

Two Hundred and fifty-seven others are on alert..

Meanwhile, the entire city of Williams Lake was put on Evacuation Alert last evening because of the fear that winds in the forecast could turn the fires towards it.
