A female cyclist was injured after getting hit by a car in Kelowna.
Police say the 20 year old biker may have suddenly turned into the lane of the Mitsubishi Lancer on Bernard Avenue Tuesday morning.
She was apparently not wearing a helmet, and was taken to hospital for treatment of what appeared to be non life threatening injuries.
“RCMP strongly encourage cyclists to wear a proper bicycle helmet,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. “Not simply to avoid fines, because helmets are required by law, but to provide much needed protection in effort to prevent head injuries.”
