“Terry Fellingham”
It is with a loving heart we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and aunt Terry Fellingham, on March 8, 2022, at the age of 94 at Noric house, where she received compassionate care by the wonderful staff. Mom was born December 3, 1927 on the homestead, at Blue Springs, B.C. a small postal stop east of Lumby.
Terry was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1976; her father Cleophas Joseph LeBlanc, birth place St. Anicet, Quebec; her mother Marie Rita Brandl, birth place Rosenheim Bavaria, Germany; siblings Peter, Chuck, Isabelle and Denise.
Mom will be loving remembered by her daughter Janice Kennett and husband Dudley of Pemberton, son David Fellingham and wife Sandy and granddaughter Nai’a of Coldstream, numerous nieces and nephews who all have wonderful memories of peach pie, potato salad, raspberry red currant jelly and iced chocolate cake while enjoying many good times at the cabin at Mabel Lake.
Terry went to college and studied Bookkeeping and Stenography at Mc Ewen and Wilkie Business College in New Westminister. Terry met Frank Fellingham at a Mabel lake hall dance. They were married March 31, 1951 at Sacred Heart Church in Lumby. As a young married woman Terry had many happy times with her fellow members of Ladies Lend a Hand Club where many good works were accomplished for the community of Lumby.
Terry enjoyed twenty fulfilling secretarial years of employment at Charles Bloom Secondary school. From her fellow staff members she received a cherished ‘Meritorious’ award in 1988. After her retirement Terry went on to many happy years of volunteering in her community of Lumby. This included working with the Community Services and helping out at the Food Bank for 10 years. Terry was one of the founding members of the Wheels to Meals program in 1990. Terry was rewarded for her many years of volunteering by the Lumby Lions Club when she was granted the honour of Lumby’s “Good Citizen of the Year” in 2006. What a humbling yet proud moment for mom.
Prayer Service will be held at 5pm on Friday, March 18, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church 10102 Middleton Drive, Coldstream, B.C.
