Thea Greetje Van de Sande

Thea Greetje Van de Sande was born on February 26, 1939 in Utrecht, Netherlands to Martha Margretha and Gerardus Speld. She grew up in Holland and in Indonesia with her sister, Edith and brother, Gerard, and sadly lost her father when she was only 14. She fell in love with Pieter and followed him to Canada when she was 21 years old. For thirty years, Thea and Pieter enjoyed their love for each other and the love of their two sons, Mark and Michael, until Pieter’s passing in 1989. Cyril Foster, Thea’s second great love, joined the family in 1992, bringing with him his two sons, Michael and David. Thea leaves to mourn: Mark, Debbie and Ryan; Mike and Stacy; Michael, Ginette, Luc and Eric; David, Andi, Layla and Sophia, and numerous other family and friends. A celebration of life will be held in late August at which we will raise our glass to honour our beautiful mother, Oma, sister and friend.
