Terrence “Terry” Lionel Crooks was a caring son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He left this world peacefully on April 7, 2023 at age 76 at the North Okanagan Hospice Society in Vernon, BC. He leaves behind his daughter Tricia (Mike), son Tyler (Regan), grandchildren Noah, Ashley, McKenna, Lily, Keely and Mason, his siblings Gary Crook and his wife Diane, Wesley Crooks and his wife Joanie, Colleen Gibson and husband Rick as well as many relatives and close friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Margaret Crooks.
Terry was born to Edward and Margaret Crooks on December 15, 1946 in Burnaby, BC. After graduating from high school, Terry attended BCIT where he took Building Technology. He went on to have a long, successful and gratifying career in construction.
Terry loved all things soccer whether that was watching his beloved Liverpool or lacing up the cleats to play himself. He played in men’s leagues his entire adult life and even coached his son’s team. He was active on the field late in life until he couldn’t play anymore. Besides his keen sense of humor, he was an avid reader of all books but specifically enjoyed a good spy novel. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids doing puzzles and games. His favorite evening activities were a walk or run on White Rock beach to enjoy the beach and all it had to offer.
Our family would like to offer our sincere gratitude and thanks to the staff at Canterbury Court for the 4 years of love and compassion that they showed him and to the staff of North Okanagan Hospice Society for the short time that he was there.
Terry will forever be loved and never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.pleasantvalleyfh.com for the Crooks family.
