STEINER, Elroy Lars

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Elroy Lars Steiner. Elroy cherished the earth, loved life and lived it well. He enjoyed entertaining others with his witty sense of humour and always had a story to tell. Generous and kind, Elroy enjoyed giving things away and was a gentle soul.
Elroy was a man who deeply loved his family. He is survived by his wife Nadine, his children Sara (Kim) and Axel, and his granddaughter Ayla. He also leaves behind his sisters Karen and Sherry (Ivan), as well as many nieces and nephews. Elroy is predeceased by his brother, Arnold (Rose) and his sister, Judy (George).
Elroy was known to many as the man who had every tool imaginable. He was a collector often finding treasures at garage sales which he loved to attend on Saturdays. He had a passion for working on his beloved 1940 Ford Mercury, Freddy, and his antique Starcraft boat. In his later years he took pride in building arch rafters continuing the legacy of his father. Elroy considered himself a builder and was proud of his contributions to both residential and commercial projects in Vernon. For Elroy work was play and even on camping trips he would find something to fix. He was always busy and one of the hardest working men there ever was. Elroy also had a love for gardening, often bringing home flowers and growing the best tomatoes.
There will be a celebration of life for Elroy that will be announced to his family and friends at a future date.
