Rosalie Elfriede Genier

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of their sister Rosalie Elfriede Genier on August 27, 2025 at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
Rosalie was born on October 11, 1937 in Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan and moved with her family to Armstrong B.C. in 1946. She attended high school in Armstrong, and excelled in athletics. She took a secretarial course and later worked at Eaton‘s for five years before going to Eaton’s in Vancouver. Here she worked in the Home Fashion Department as secretary to the manager. After returning to Vernon, she married Peter Genier on December 4, 1981 and they lived together until his death in 201. Rosalie later operated a gardening business and enjoyed working outside, cutting grass, weeding and watching flowers and vegetables grow and mature.
Rosalie is survived by nine siblings, two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, one sister, four brothers-in-law and two great nephews.
Interment will take place at the Lumby Cemetery at 11 AM on Friday, September 12, 2025. A funeral service will take place at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home Chapel at 1 PM on September 12. Officiating will be Pastor David Reim from St. Paul Lutheran Church.
