In Loving Memory
Bobbie was born on October 15, 1937, in Regina Saskatchewan and it is with great sadness that we announce her passing at the Hamlets of Vernon on June 29, 2024 at the age of 86 years.
Bobbie will be fondly remembered by her children; Shelley, David (Krista), Stephen(Mechelle), and Stacey; seven grandchildren, Leanne, Michael (Trish), Kyle (Hailey), Wade, Anika, Liam and Grace; five great grandchildren, Sophia, Cash, Kane, Ellie and Averie; her siblings Dawn (Willi) and Ronnie (Darlene); together with extended family members and the friends she made during her lifetime. She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Diamond Varley, sister Ruth, son-in-law Larry and her husband Loren of 52 years.
Bobbie was a kind, hard working woman that took pride in providing a solid foundation for her family. She was also generous with her time and had volunteered for meals on wheels alongside her mother. Later when she retired, she volunteered and was recognized for her many years in the victim assistance program. Bobbie was blessed with a green thumb and always knew the trick for growing more tomatoes or how to transplant flowers. She had a soft spot for animals, in particular dogs and birds; it’s no wonder she was happiest at home tending to her vegetable and flower gardens with a dog roaming around the yard, and birds chirping in the background. Bobbie will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
In respecting Bobbie’s wishes she was cremated. A service at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home will take place on Friday, July 19, 2024. Friends and family are invited to the Chapel Service at 1:30 PM. A tea service will follow. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may donate to NONA (North Okanagan Child Development Centre).
The family would like to thank the many people that helped care for her in the past few years of her life; Dr. Dyck, Dr. Pritchitt, and Dr. Dreyer, the staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Gateby Care Facility, Wendy Denman for brightening Bobbie’s day, and the staff at the Hamlets of Vernon where she called home for the last 21 months.
