Robert (Bob) Jewitt – dedicated husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend – passed away on Friday, May 12th, 2023.
Bob was born to Grace and William Jewitt in Sarnia, Ontario, December 23, 1947, the youngest of four boys and is survived by his three brothers Les, Kenneth and Lenard.
Bob moved out to western Canada in 1973. He soon met and married Gay Groff and had 2 children Jeremy (Leanne) and Kelly (Richard), and two grandchildren Shae and Troy.
He later married Wendy Hart who he had 20 wonderful years with prior to his passing. He was a great friend to her children Tylere, Amy (Jason) and Sarah (Jon) and a big part of their lives. Bob was grandpa to Jordyn, Makenzie, Brixton and Oaklen. Bob was known as a quiet, thoughtful, kindhearted man with a great sense of humour. Throughout the years Bob enjoyed and excelled at many sports, and donated a lot of time to coaching younger athletes.
He loved tinkering on projects including cars, carpentry and was truly a jack of all trades. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, music, outdoor activities, barbeques and the occasional Budweiser. He had a long career as a landscaper and is known for his winters driving the Zamboni at the Vernon ice arena.
There will be a celebrations of life June 17th, starting at 3:00 at 1444 Mabel Lake Rd, Lumby B.C. It will be outdoors with a BBQ dinner and music afterwards open to all that wish to stay.
