August 16, 1927 – November 3, 2022
The family of Pearl Daisy Johnson of Vernon, B.C. is saddened to announce her passing on November 3, 2022 at the age of 95 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Deborah Gay Capt (Doug), Leslie Anne Ouellet (JM), John Johnson (Ethel), Rebecca Losier (Jean-Denis), Jim Johnson (Seija), Dave Johnson, and Tim Johnson. 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Leslie John George Johnson; son, Adrian; great grandson Ryder Johnson, and Paul Swanson, father of granddaughter, Justina.
Pearl Daisy was born in Jackson, Mississippi. After completing high school, she earned her college teaching degree at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. Thereafter she moved to Oregon to teach. While attending a Bible convention in Cleveland, Ohio, she met her future husband, and moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta where they started their family. Twelve years later, Daisy yearned for a milder climate, and they settled in Vernon BC, where the remaining 4 children were born. Daisy loved to garden and can her preserves to feed the family. She was an accomplished pianist and songs with a happy beat were her favorite. Her quick wit was known and loved by many. There was always a cat or two that shared the family home and over the years, they were joined by a couple of dogs, Goldie and Cookie.
A zoom Memorial Service will be held on Saturday November 26, 2022.
In the spring, a graveside service will be held to bury her ashes next to her husband.
