January 12, 1958 – January 6, 2021
It is with great sorrow we announce the unexpected passing of Patrick Wallace Gallaher on January 6th, 2021 at the age of 62 at his home in Vernon, BC.
Lovingly remembered by his children Ryan, Jessica and Matthew (Maria) Gallaher, ex-wife Susan Ivey, brothers Robert and Donald Gallaher as well as in-laws, extended family and many friends.
Pat was born on January 12th, 1958 in Victoria, BC and grew up in many cities within the province. His father Doug, supervised various provincial and international construction projects, ranging from as far north as Hudson’s Hope all the way down to Crescent Beach before settling in Kamloops. He was an avid athlete in hockey, football and basketball throughout his life. Pat graduated from Simon Fraser University with a bachelor of arts and started a career in sales for SmithKline Beecham pharmaceutical company. After a few years living and working in Vancouver, he was transferred to the company’s office in Oakville, Ontario with his wife Susan (Ivey) Gallaher.
He had a wonderful life in Ontario raising his three children and being a loving husband. He was very active in coaching and playing basketball and hockey with his children. He enjoyed taking his family on trips back to his homeland of BC to visit relatives and spend time in the mountains skiing. Pat loved being up north at his cottage in the Muskokas, especially if he had friends and family to entertain. Taking everyone on boat rides, having bonfires, playing cards and just relaxing on the dock were some of the times he cherished most. Pat later retired early and moved to Vernon, BC to enjoy the many things the Okanagan had to offer. He was a member of the Vernon golf and country club in the summer and enjoyed skiing in the winter. He was an amazing son, brother, father, husband, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone he touched.
Cremation has occurred at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, and no service will be held at this time.
