It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Patricia Jean Yeo (née King). Pat passed away peacefully in the early morning of December 29, 2023, in Vernon, BC, after an amazing 93 years of life.
Predeceased by her loving husband Bruce in 1995, Pat is survived by daughters Heather Brown (Ron), Nancy Ashley, Shannon Hubmann and Allyson Fardy (Noel); her grandchildren Roxanne (Chris), Allie (Geoff), Margaux, Bruce, Madelene, Kurt (Melissa), Magnus, Claire, and Alex; her great-children Jack, C.J., Violet, and Lewis; brother Ken King (Barb), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Pat will be fondly remembered as a kind-hearted, interesting woman, full of style and grace. Pat started her life in Winnipeg. After marriage to Bruce in 1954, the couple moved to Regina where they raised their family. They retired to Coldstream in 1991. A person with true prairie values, she treasured family and friendships.
Pat was actively involved in the IODE as president of the Prairie Lily and Silverstar chapters, a docent at the MacKenzie Art Gallery, a member of several bridge clubs and helped to manage her children’s many activities. Pat made entertaining look easy, whether a lavish Christmas Eve party or an impromptu gathering, all felt welcomed. She was a dedicated volunteer with The United Way, Heart and Stroke, and Diabetes foundations. Her love of travel took her too many destinations and ports of call around the world. She enjoyed many summers at the family cottage at Lumsden Beach.
Mom, you have shown us an example of a life well lived. Your grace, dignity and determination continue to inspire us. We miss you. You will always be a part of us. Say hello to Dad.
There will be no service; a family gathering will be held in Calgary at a later date.
