JANUARY 13, 1924 – MAY 29, 2019
We are sad to announce that our loving mom and Oma has passed away at 95 years young. She was born in Romania and emigrated to Canada with her husband Tony, eldest son Joe and daughter Mary in the early 50’s. They settled in Richmond until the passing of her loving husband Anthony (Tony) she moved to Vernon to join her children in 1983. Here she spent the remainder of her life doing what she loved most, being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and Gardening!!! She was in her glory in the garden and preparing all winter for gardening season by growing her seedlings. When not in the garden she was always cooking or baking something delicious. Monika is predeceased by her husband Anthony (Tony), her brothers Peter, Willie (Erika) and Walter. Her sisters Gundi and Madelyn. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Gretel, daughter Mary Anderson (Joe), son Joe Ruscheinsky, son Mike Ruscheinsky (Maureen). Her grandsons Rick Anderson (Kim) and Tony Ruscheinsky. Her granddaughters Teresa (Michael) Illingby, Lisa (Monty) McInnes, Carrie (Tyler) Lebine and Shelley (Shawn) Desautels. Great grandchildren Kieran, and Kylie Stewart, Hannah and Justin Ruscheinsky, Cole and Zoe Desautels, Maya, Gabriel and Lief Lebine and numerous nieces and nephews. Prayers will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2019 at 7:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday June 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Father Peter Nguyen officiating at St. James Catholic Church 2607 27 Street Vernon, BC.
