September 26th 1960 – January 26th 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ralph McLean on January 26th, 2023, at the age of 62 in Vernon, BC. Ralph was born in Kamloops, BC, on September 26, 1960, to Alex and Bettie McLean.
Ralph is predeceased by his father Alexander McLean.
Ralph is survived by his daughter Tasia (Rob), his mother Bettie, his brother Robert, his sisters Barbara and Kathy (Jim), the love of his life Joanne, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ralph was a hard-working journeyman plumber. Throughout his life Ralph worked in various places all over Canada though he always made his way back to Vernon. He was a kind-hearted man who often had a no non-sense type of approach. At an early age Ralph began to struggle with alcoholism which plagued him until his passing. Even though addiction robbed Ralph of many things in life, he always tried the best he could for the people he loved. Ralph was known to always have his tools ready and helped people when he could. He could often be found watching hockey or reading a book and was rarely seen without his ball cap on.
A Celebration of Ralph’s life will be held at a later date. If you have any funny or heart-felt stories of you & Ralph that you wish to share with Ralph’s family and friends, please email them to babsmc19@gmail.com. Any photos of Ralph would also be greatly appreciated.
Addiction is not a choice or a weakness. Every person battling addiction deserves empathy, respect and support. If you know someone battling addiction remind them whenever you can that they are loved.
