Margaret Gloria ‘Joanna’ Byrnes

September 17, 1930 (Sudbury, ON) – February 2, 2025 (Vernon BC)

 

It is with very heavy hearts the family of Margaret Gloria ‘Joanna’ Byrnes (nee MacIver) announce the passing of our beloved mother, in Vernon BC on February 2nd 2025.

Daughter of Laura(Wilson) and Jock MacIver both predeceased. She was also predeceased by her loving husband Bob and cherished son Doug, brothers John and Don.

Survived by her 3 children; Heather(Art), Glen(Wendy), Peter(Vicki) and daughter in law Cheryl. 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a beloved younger sister Cathy. Also left to grieve are many extended family members here in Canada and in Scotland.

Mom had a full life, enjoying quilting, bridge, golf and walking 10k marathons into her 80’s. She was an amazing hostess to all who visited.

We are grateful to have so many wonderful memories especially from their BX home where the family enjoyed special times together.

She was loved by so many and will be remembered as an elegant, unassuming strong little lady. She was loving, caring and generous.
