John Hugh Northcote (91) (also known as Roger) of Vernon, BC passed away December 1, 2022.
John is predeceased by his wife Rita (1942-2016) and his brother Alan (1934-1994). He is survived by his children; Kimberley (Mark), John (Susan), and Dawne (Darryl). His grandchildren; Isaiah, Mishal, Rachel, Sarah, Vaughn, Kenneth and Ashley… as well as great grandchildren.
Born on January 13, 1931 in Sidmouth, Devon England to William John and Ida Lilian Northcote. John immigrated to Canada with his parents in the 1930’s and spent many years in the Vancouver area. He worked for 25 years at the Hudson’s Bay Company. In 1971 after moving to Gibsons, he worked almost 10 years at the Canfor Pulp Mill in Port Mellon. He then moved to Cherryville where he delivered mail for 10 years before retiring and moving into Vernon.
He loved the Sea, and through his years at the coast owned many boats. He also loved to garden and tend his fruit trees.
He will be greatly missed.
