It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Farrer on Friday, May 20, 2022.
Irene was born in Fairview, Alberta on March 25 1939 to John and Gertrude Riddle.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Alan Farrer, sons Mark Thomas and Christopher Farrer (Jenn), daughter Gail Thomas, her grandchildren, sister Ruth, brother Albert, her nieces and nephews as well as her friends and those who loved her. Irene was pre-deceased by her adopted son Michael Thomas and grandson Joseph Thomas.
Irene was Mother and Nana to many throughout her life. Her sense of humour and infectious laugh were delightful. Her beautiful soul was kind, compassionate and she was generous with her love and wisdom for all. She loved being in her garden, puttering away, growing vegetables and beautiful flower beds. Irene loved painting, in quiet momentsĀ or with her daughter, friends and most especially her granddaughter. Mystery shows and great books allowed her to travel the world from her armchair.
Irene will be deeply missed and the memories we have of her will be cherished forever.
Cremation arrangements have been left in the compassionate care of Vernon Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please take a walk in nature, share or plant a flower in her memory. Peace and love.
