Hugh Reis

We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Hugh Reis, on Thursday, November 24, 2022, one day short of his 80th birthday.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara, his 3 children, Kelly Reis (Al Avey), Grant (Jennifer) Burville, and Shawn (Niki) Reis, and his 6 grandchildren (Conlan, Katie, Emily, Gavin, Rory and Jack).
Hugh will be remembered as a man with a big voice and an even bigger heart. Born and raised in Stratford, Ontario, Hugh travelled west as a young professional settling in the greater Vancouver area and embarking on a successful career as a sales manager in the steel products industry before retiring to the Okanagan in the early 1990’s. Over the next 30 years of “retirement” he dabbled in a number of different part time ventures, all because he loved to meet and connect with new people. His common refrain “Hello there, I’m Hughie” will be missed by those who knew him and those yet to meet him. Hugh was a true gentleman who had an impact on all that he met.
Details regarding a summer celebration of life will be communicated by the family.
