1962-2025
It’s with heavy hearts that our family announces that Melinda “Holly” Michelle Morrow of Coldstream, BC passed away of natural causes on February 22, 2025
Holly was born in Kelowna 1962, five years later the Morrow family moved to Vernon. In 1969 the family bought a corner lot across from an apple orchard and built their own house in Coldstream. Holly received all of her schooling in Coldstream and Vernon and grew up with a very close and loving family, She always had a special bond with her brother and sisters, always very close to Heather (Hez) who was her Irish twin.
Starting in 1985 Hollys career with North Okanagan Youth and Family Services really changed her life and the many people that her life touched. She became best friends with her coworkers and they became lifer friends.
In January 1986 she had her treasured son Dane. Then Holly quickly learned how to become a Hockey, Soccer, Rugby, and Football Mom, loving every minute of it! Holly loved to travel and went on many wonderful trips with Dane and her friends. A lifetime love of water, the back yard pool was one of her favorite places to be. She also enjoyed kayaking and biking.
In 2006 Holly had an acquired brain injury, after that she worked hard and excelled in her recovery. In 2007 the Coldstream Church and NOYFSS came together to retrofit her house. This life changing act of charity by the Church and NOYFSS will always be remembered by the family.
In 2022 after a fall, Holly suffered a spinal injury and went into care at The Hamlets. The family wants to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the care team at the Hamlets for taking exceptional care of Holly.
In many ways Holly was the centre of the family, the keeper of the family connection. Holly had an exceptionally quick wit and an excellent sense of humour. She was very compassionate, enriching the many lives that she came in touch with. We will be eternally grateful for having her in our lives.
Holly was predeceased by her parents Bob and Joyce Morrow. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Brain Injury Society, or Spinal Cord Injury BC.
Please join us Friday April 4, 2025 at 1 pm to celebrate Holly’s amazing life at the Coldstream Hall 9909 Kalamalka Road.
