GOODALL, Beryl Christine

Beryl Christine Goodall was welcomed into the world by Edith and Albert Smith on Christmas day in Castleford, England in 1932. She passed away peacefully one week shy of her 92nd birthday at her Coldstream home on Dec 18, 2024.
Beryl grew up in the time of World War II, went to Goldsmiths college in London for art and teaching and got married to her high school sweetheart Geoff Goodall in 1955. They immigrated to eastern Canada in 1957 to start a family and new life. She lived in St John’s NB, Winnipeg, Tsawwassen and finally the last move to Vernon in 1974. By then Beryl was ready to get back to teaching at Okanagan Landing School where she was a much beloved teacher by students and teachers alike for her calm, competent and caring demeanor. In her retirement, Beryl renewed her youthful passion for painting and the arts. She loved classical music, ballet, opera’s and traveling. Beryl is remembered for her quiet kindness and wisdoms for those who sought her counsel. Old students would often come up to her on the street and remind her of her impact on their lives. She really was a gem. Beryl loved her friendships having many close friends and was the glue that held her family together. Beryl was predeceased by baby Michael, husband Geoff and her daughters Wendy Goodall and Karen Ansell. Her memory lives on with children Peter and Janet Goodall, her grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Aug 10 in Vernon on Okanagan Lake.
