We are saddened to share the loss of our beloved Gary Lindsay Brennan, who died at the age of 77 years old in Vernon, B.C., on February 26, 2022 due to Leukaemia.
He was born in Woking, Byfleet, England on March 11, 1944. He was the eldest of two sons, (survived by), his younger brother Paul and his parents (pre-deceased), Les & Isobel Brennan.
He immigrated to Canada on February 4, 1966. He stayed within British Columbia, where he married and had two children, residing in the West End of Vancouver, North Vancouver, Horsefly, Williams Lake and finally settling in Vernon, B.C where he retired from B.C. Hydro at the age of 59. He had started as a meter man and later ventured into Draft & Design.
He had a love of music, poetry, art, history and philosophy which he shared socializing (his favourite past-time) with his many family and friends that he maintained in England & Canada. He loved nature walks, swimming and hours of driving with his vast collection of music playing, throughout B.C.
He is survived by his son, Sean Brennan, (his wife) Valerie, (their children), Taegan, Riley and Isla. His daughter Kyra Brennan. His younger brother Paul Brennan (his wife) Pauline, and (nephew) Neil (his wife) Amanda, (their children) Leo and Keira. And (niece) Lisa Brennan.
Hopefully he is having a Pint, eating his favourite meal, Fish and Chips, hanging out with Elvis. He will be truly missed for his genuine kind heart & sense of humour.
A casual gathering for family and friends TBD, will be held this summer.
Donations can be made to the SPCA or to The Children’s Hospital, both charities he had donated to during his lifetime.
Two quotes he had in his home.
“ To see a world in a grain of sand
And heaven in a wildflower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.”
William Blake c. 1801
“A gentleman takes as much trouble to discover what is right, as the lesser men take to discover what will pay.”
Confucius
