Frederic Clyde, 77, passed away on July 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with his failing health.
Frederic was was born in Vancouver, BC, in 1949, the first of 5 children to Marjorie (nee Arnison) (1926-2017) and Clifford Scott Skidmore (1926-1957).
The Skidmores moved into the suburb of Coquitlam in 1955-at a time when it was just a collection of isolated mills and farming settlements, and when there were more forested areas than houses. Coquitlam became home for many years.
Fred was devastated by the loss of his father in 1957. He was just 8 years old. Mother Marjorie struggled to keep her family of 5 young children together-it was not easy, but the family made it through.
Fred is survived by his partner of 30 years, the love of his life, Nancy Lozanski. Fred and Nancy built a life for themselves in Vernon.
Fred liked their quiet life, but he was always warm and welcoming when family arrived for a visit-but then he was also happy to say, “Off you go now!”, when he felt that the visit had lasted long enough. Their yard was always a show place of plants and veggies. Nancy would give Fred all the credit, saying the green thumb was his.
Fred will be deeply missed by his family:
Stepson Luc (Susan).
Son Michael (Cori-Anne), and daughters, Christa and Carly.
His grandchildren Karma (Luc); Van, Victoria, Violet (Michael); Carter, Ayla (Christa); Tyler, David, and Miley (Carly).
His siblings Patricia Jane, Joan Marie, Ricky James (Sherri).
Predeceased by brother Lloyd CLifford (1951-2007).
His brother-in-laws: Thomas David Lozanski, Steven Louis Lozanski.
Predeceased by John Edward Lozanski (1946-2020).
Fred is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
