Ellen Estella Munday

It is with sorrow, the family of Ellen Estella Munday announce her passing at the age of 90 in Vernon, BC on March 19, 2022.
Ellen is predeceased by her daughter, Edith Barry, her son in law, Howard Bannister as well as her 4 older siblings; Thelma, Archie, Alfred and Earl.
Ellen is survived by children; Linda, Susan, Philip, Paul (Deana), Paulette (Bill), Raymond (Elizabeth), Jackie (Frank) and Lisa. Also 24 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many extended family members and close friends.
Ellen was born in Winter, SK in 1931. She was the youngest child in her family. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was proud of making clothing items to donate to those in need. She enjoyed selling her crafts later in life. She loved flowers and gardening. Ellen was a survivor and incredibly resourceful as a mother. Her door was always open to feed an extra person. Ellen will be remembered for her generous spirit and beautiful smile that could light up a room.
During her life, Ellen lived in various communities across BC. She was fortunate to spend the last few years of her life living in the Okanagan in the care of her eldest daughter Linda. This enabled her to enjoy time with her children, family, and friends while flourishing in her remaining years.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on July 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home in Vernon, BC. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Ellen’s memory to Turning Points Collaborative in Vernon BC (info.Turningpoints.ngo)
