It is with much sadness we wish to announce the passing of Dorothy Shewchuk. She went home to be with the Lord on April 11 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

She leaves to mourn her husband, Dan of 52 years, son Mark (Liz), daughter Stephanie, brothers Harv (Carol), Randy (Rhonda), and sisters Bev (Jim), Bonnie, Kim (Steve), and seven grandchildren whom she cherishes. She was predeceased by her father and mother, David and Florence Unraw and her sister Carol.

Moving from Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1974 to Vernon B.C., she became employed at the bay and worked there many years making many friends and acquaintances.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Gilhooley, Dr. Hardy and Dr. Rankin for the exceptional treatment she received, and the special care she received from all of the cancer staff.
Special thank you to all staff at the Hospice House in Vernon for the compassionate care she received.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society on her behalf.

A small funeral service was held for Dorothy on April 24th, 2024. Dorothy has been laid to rest at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Vernon, B.C.
