It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Pihowich.

She went with the angels on April 22, 2023 with devoted family by her bedside. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Terrence Pihowich. Donna was born on April 9, 1947 in Edmonton Alberta, to adoring parents, Walter and Andrena Jowett. She spent the majority of her life there, raising her family and later forging a career with Alberta Health Services before retiring to the Okanagan in 2011. Donna loved to socialize and her contagious energy drew people to her. She is the co-founder of the Widow’s Group in the Vernon area, which has grown substantially and been a source of support and fun for those who have joined. The outdoors and nature have always been a big part of Donna’s life. Whether it was gardening, exercising or just relaxing in the sun, she could always find a reason to be outside. In her 60’s Donna decided it was a good time to start doing marathons, winning first place for her age group in one of them. Her fierce determination, fun-loving, caring, generous and nurturing spirit will be greatly missed by her family and many close friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life held for Donna on Friday, May 12^th, 2023 at 11:00am at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home (4303 Pleasant Valley Road) with a reception to follow.
