Denise Elizabeth Sullivan
October 17, 1954, Toronto – October 14, 2024, Vernon
Beloved wife, mother, sister and friend
Predeceased by her father Jack Ball and mother Betty Ball and favourite aunt Doreen
Denise spent her early childhood on a dairy farm in Schomberg, Ontario. She graduated from high school in Richmond Hill, Ontario and soon moved to Castlegar where her love of BC began. She hiked, biked, ran, skied and swam with enthusiasm while finding time to work at Safeway.
Denise moved to Vernon in 1987 and her 37 year love affair with Terry began. She was a wonderful stepmom to his daughters Corey and Dana and the four shared many adventures.
Denise continued to work at Safeway until she went back to school and became an RN. She was a caring nurse at VJH until her retirement while continuing with her sports.
Terry and Denise enjoyed travel and visited many tropical and cultural destinations.
One of Denise’s greatest delights was looking after the “puppies”. She and Terry had many cocker spaniels over the years; mostly rescues. She was a great cook and enjoyed experimenting with many healthy living recipes. She was spiritual and did a lot of reading and study on spiritual topics.
Denise faced the past eight years with courage and dignity. She received wonderful care from all the staff at Noric House in her final couple of years.
Denise is survived by her husband Terry, daughters Corey (Shawn) and Dana (Nick and grandsons Alfie and Theo), sister-in-law Gwen (Gerry), sister Rhona (Gary), nephew Bill, niece Kelly (Sean) and cousin Maureen.
A funeral service will be held for Denise on November 7, 2024 at 1:30pm at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley Road, Vernon, B.C.
