It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of David C. Sinclair on June 24, 2025, at the age of 72, in Vernon, BC.
David was born in Vancouver, BC, on September 10, 1952. He will be deeply missed by his beloved spouse of 40 years, Diane Turenne; his son Christopher Sinclair (Rachel); and his four cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Brian Sinclair (Kelly); brother-in-law Marc Turenne (Darlene); sister-in-law Christine Turenne (Terry Aleck), brother-n-law Robert Hood; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was predeceased by his mother Elise Cook, father Robin Sinclair, stepmother Bitty Sinclair, and sister-in-law Louise Hood.
A skilled and dedicated tradesman, David was a certified electrician and proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 213. Over the years, he also worked as a heavy-duty mechanic, heavy machine operator, and millwright. He was known for his wide range of talents in construction and computer technology and was especially gifted at problem solving—qualities that made him a valued friend, colleague, and go-to helper for many.
David was a longtime Scout leader in Port Coquitlam, where he found joy and purpose mentoring youth. It was during this time that he also discovered his passion for ham radio, a hobby that brought him great satisfaction and lifelong friendships.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Kinsmen Hall, 2175 Coquitlam Avenue, Port Coquitlam, BC.
David’s kindness, wisdom, and humor will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
