September 8, 1938 – July 11, 2021
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Alvin Polok on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at VJH. He left peacefully with his family by his side. Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Diane (nee Turley), daughter Diana (Tony), son Greg (Michelle) and grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, Connor and Collin.
Al’s greatest joy was his family. He enjoyed wintering in Yuma with his wife Diane and the many trips that involved his four grandsons, especially camping and fishing at Mable Lake.
Alvin apprenticed with the City of Calgary in Alberta, as a Lineman/Cableman and eventually transitioned to management. After being approached by BC Hydro for a manager’s position for Vancouver, he moved to BC with his family. His career with Hydro later took him to Sechelt then Vernon where he retired as a Distribution Manager after 30 years of service.
We would like to thank Dr. Yacyshyn, Dr. Cunningham, Dr. Tan and the amazing staff on the Seventh floor of VJH for their exceptional care and guidance.
