Alma Betty Heller (nee Gomez)
September 15, 1928 – August 16, 2022
Born in Regina, SK, Alma passed away peacefully on August 16, 2022 at Hearthstone Manor in Vernon, B.C.. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters and brothers, Marlene (Bob) Brown, John (Jean) Gomez, Harold (Nadia) Gomez, Vanya Gomez, Tom (Linda) Gomez and Tami (Jeff) Serandos.
She is predeceased by her husband Victor Henry Heller, mother Clariss Ainsworth (nee Slight), father Harry Gomez and sister Norma Teresa York (nee Gomez), brothers Ronald Aubrey Gomez, and Douglas Alexander Ainsworth (nee Gomez).
Alma’s passion was music and teaching. She was an elementary school teacher for years and loved to play her violin and sing in her church choir. When she met the love of her life, Henry Heller, she became an avid hiker, skier and traveller.
Alma and Henry moved from North Vancouver to Vernon in the late 70’s where they enjoyed the great outdoors. Alma played her violin with the Backyard Band for many years and was an active member of the Trinity United Church. Alma’s smiling face along with her kind and pleasant nature will be missed by her many friends.
The family would like to express a special thank you to her long time friends, Randy and Dianne Brown.
A Celebration of Life Service at the Trinity United Church will be held on Wednesday Sept. 21st at 2:00PM
