How do you sum up such a life in a few paragraphs?
Mom was lucky to meet her soul mate at an early age while they were both in the air force. She soon quit to get to the business of having and raising a family.
Following dad to a new base every two years she made a home wherever they settled. With her outgoing friendly personality, she easily made new friends, some of whom she kept up with to the end. One of her great joys was talking with people on the phone. Having survived her siblings and closest friends she was running out of people for her long conversations so it was time to go.
As a young mother she always made time for people playing games with her children, reading to us and singing in the car as we travelled from place to place.
As we were on a fixed budget most of the time, she was able to make healthy tasty meals from whatever was available. She sewed clothes for us, made toys and costumes, and created a loving environment for us to grow up in.
Mom loved curling from playing it when she was younger to watching it in the last few years. It was the only thing she would watch on tv. Mom loved music and passed on that love to her children, though she didn’t play an instrument she was always singing and listening to music. In her later years she filled her time doing puzzles, playing scrabble, reading, painting and sewing for various charities. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, and delighted in their visits and phone calls. She loved, and was loved by so many people and will be greatly missed as she was the hub around which so many lives revolved.
