It’s actually Ace Frehley’s 57th birthday today. He was a founding member of KISS and was in the band from 1973-1983. In 2018 it’s great to see younger generations enjoy the music of the past. My nephew Brady’s 18th birthday is today and as he put it “Brings a smile to my face knowing I share the same birthday as my hero. HaHaHa!”Brady thinks Ace Frehley is the best guitarist ever! KISS has certainly inspired many to dress up and play a real, or air-guitar for over the years.

Have you ever been in an air-band show? When we were kids my friends and my cousins used to love rockin’ out to all the songs with salt & pepper shakers or our curling irons that we used as microphones. LOL.

This week an Enderby dad was inspired by the tunes we play on 1075 Beach Radio and so proud of his daughter and her friends, that he decided to share their recent air-band performance. Here’s what proud dad Josh had to say through TALK or TEXT at 250-545-7557. “Was just enjoying your live version of “Rock and roll All Night” from Kiss a few minutes ago. This is how the girls at M.V. Beattie School in Enderby do it”!

Josh also shared “My daughter and her friends did it in an air band competition last month. They also opened for a band called Darkstone with it last weekend at Lorenzo’s Cafe in Ashton Creek. Lorenzo is her grandfather.They are only 11 but with a little encouragement from her 40- something parents, she starting to realize that the 70s really were the best decade:) Also BTW they didn’t win the competition with that. The Spice Girls did!
