Vernon Vipers Commemorate Historic Arena

Jan 6, 2018 | 9:17 PM

The Beach Radio Events Crew joined 2200 fans tonight for the Vipers sold-out game against the Prince George Spruce Kings! The final score was 3-2 for Prince George.

Although Vernon’s Kal Tire Place is the Vipers current home, they returned to the Civic Arena for one final game. Tonight’s game concluded a legacy of Junior A matches played in the historic arena, as it is set to be demolished. Today marks the Civic’s 80th anniversary!

Vipers fans are able to bid on the Vipers vintage jerseys they wore throughout the game! Visit AuctionOkanagan.com for additional details!

During the intermissions, the Vernon Figure skating club preformed both group and solo routines.

Before the game, the Crew was busy handing out free SunRype and playing Vernon’s Newest Beach, 1075 Beach Radio! Some lucky Vipers fans were also able to score a pair of tickets to next weeks game for only $20!

Next Saturday the Vipers take on the Cowichan Valley Capitals! We hope to see you at Kal Tire Place! If you’re unable to make the game, tune into 107.5 Beach Radio for a live broadcast!

Thank you to everyone who joined us in commemorating this piece of Vernon history!
