United Way Sees Surge In Donors

The local United Way saw a last minute surge in individual donations to help its fundraising campaign.

Executive director Linda Yule says new donations raised that part of their campaign to 72-thousand dollars, more than expected.

“Over the last weekend of the year several online donations came in, and a family group made a significant donation to push this part of our campaign to over $72,000. We won’t know some of our other results until probably early February as a couple of workplaces just wrapped December 31st and their reporting is compiled nationally,” says Yule.

Yule says their overall goal is 240-thousand thousand dollars, with results still coming in from national workplaces.
