Nominations Sought For Business Awards

Nominations are now being accepted for the annual Business Excellence Awards put on by the Greater Vernon Chambr of Commerce.

Nominations for the 15 awards can be submitted through the Chamber`s website at www.vernonchamber.ca until January 19th.

The Chamber is also pleased to recognize Valley First – A Division of First West Credit Union as the presenting sponsor of the long running awards program that showcases Greater Vernon`s premier businesses and community leaders.

This year`s theme is a Kentucky derby based event, encouraging attendees to wear derby attire and it will be a celebration of the winners as recognized by the “Winners Circle.”

“The Chamber of Commerce has recognized businesses and business leaders at its annual awards for many years, recognizing the hard work and risk takers of the region,” says Dione Chambers, general manager with the Greater Vernon Chamber.

With strong support from the business community and our membership, the Chamber has expanded the awards to recognize two additional categories. New additions include, Solopreneur of the year, recognizing Sole Proprietors, as well as the new category, Innovator of the year, recognizing an individual or business with an innovative product or service.

The Excellence Awards are scheduled for Fri. March 9th, 2018 at the Vernon Lodge and will feature 15 different awards ranging from Tourism Excellence to Community Leader of the Year.

All the nominees in each of the categories will be considered for the “Business of the Year” award sponsored by BDC.

A panel of independent business leaders will review all nominations and announce the three finalists in each category at a nominee luncheon held in February with the winners revealed at the Awards Gala.

Tickets for the Gala, which is a near sell out each year, are currently on sale at vernonchamber.ca
