Priest Valley Arena/Gym Upgrade

Wayne Mihalicz, City of Vernon Recreation Facilities Coordinator, and Crystal Williams, Youth Coordinator with Independent Living Vernon, outside the Priest Valley Gym/Arena where new disable accessible doors have been installed.

Vernon’s Priest Valley Arena and Gym are now easier to access.

The City has installed disable accessible doors at the north and south entrances of the facility as part of the annual maintenance program.

The project added automatic sliding doors into the front lobby, and new doors at the player’s entrance with a push button automatic door opener.

“This project is an example or our commitment to ensure that all of our facilities are as accessible as possible” says Wayne Mihalicz, Recreation Facilities Coordinator.

“I think it’s great that Priest Valley Arena is more accessible for everyone to use” says Crystal Williams, Youth Coordinator with Independent Living Vernon.
