Realtors Honoured For Community Service

Dec 20, 2017 | 3:00 PM

Two North Okanagan realtors have been honoured for their dedication to the community.

Darcy Griffiths and Denise Dobie have been presented with the Realtors Care Award by the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board.

“One of the highest honours OMREB can bestow on its members, the annual REALTORS Care Award, now in its 12th year, is presented to individuals whose dedication to excellence has had a profound impact on the quality of life in the communities they serve,” says Tanis Read, President of the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board.

Griffiths has been involved in significant fund-raising for the Vernon Women’s Transition House despite a cancer diagnosis, while Dobie hosted a benefit dinner for the North Okanagan Hospice Society and 12 years of creating gift baskets for the Children’s Christmas Workshop.

To be eligible for the award, candidates must be active members of OMREB who have made a noteworthy contribution that broadly benefits a community organization, which can be a society, sports team, charity, town or district society, or other organization dedicated to benefiting the community.

Candidates are nominated by members of the public and by their Realtor colleagues.
