Tattoo Back For 2018

Dec 19, 2017 | 10:30 AM

Plans are underway for the 5th annual Okanagan Military Tattoo in Vernon.

The music and dancing event will have two shows at Kal Tire Place: one at night on July 28, and a matinee on July 29, with tickets now on sale at ticketseller.ca.

“It’s Vernon’s largest annual indoor event and Western Canada’s only military tattoo,” says Director Derek Hall. “Over 500 performers will take part in the event of a lifetime, including massed pipes and drums, highland dancers, military and civilian bands, cultural troupes, precision drills, singers and the poignant refrain of the Lone Piper against the stunning backdrop of “The Castle.””

The theme will be Music ‘n Motion.

Part of the show will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1.

“While still awaiting formal confirmation from some performers, plans for the 2018 Okanagan Military Tattoo include Taiku Drummers, a Canadian and a US Military Band, 4 local pipe bands, the RCMP Ceremonial Troop, Cadets from the Vernon Cadet Camp and the ever popular Okanagan Military Tattoo Dancers,” says Hall.
