Fourth Decade Of Counter Attack Begins

Dec 1, 2017 | 5:09 PM

‘Tis the season for Christmas parties — and for RCMP roadblocks.

Mounties say they’ll be conducting impaired driving enforcement throughout the month.

“The number of people killed in impaired-related crashes each year has significantly dropped with 40 years of Counter Attack, but impaired driving remains a top contributing factor in BC,” says an RCMP release.

Police are reminding people to plan ahead if they plan to drink.

That includes having a designated driver, taking transit or calling a cab.

And if you see a driver on the road that may be impaired, call 911.

An average of 65 people die each year in drunk-driving related incidents in BC.
