MLA Says Green Leader is ‘Full Of It”

Nov 29, 2017 | 6:10 AM

The MLA for Vernon Monashee says BC’s Green Party leader is “full of it.”

Eric Foster is upset that Andrew Weaver is making it look like the Liberals don’t support ride sharing.

“It’s not that we’re not supporting ride hailing. I don’t care what Weaver said. He’s full of it, and you can quote me on that because what we said was, we support this idea and the committee going out. They should have a little more time than three days to interview people and you have to include the taxi industry in the interviews,” Foster tells Kiss FM.

In a news release, Weaver said the Liberal caucus voted against moving ride-hailing forward in BC, by not backing an all party committee that will discuss the plan.

“I must admit I am disappointed that the BC Liberals have chosen to oppose moving ridesharing forward,” said Weaver. “Since electing a minority government British Columbians have been clear that they want their politicians to work together like grownups. This could have been an opportunity for all parties to stand together and show people we are capable of that.”

Weaver doesn’t feel the taxi industry needs to be included as its part of a review underway by the government.

“If you’re going to have a discussion about how it goes forward, you have to talk to the industry that’s most impacted buy it. They’re completely ignoring the taxi industry,” says Foster.
