Man Accused Of Assaulting Officer

A Vernon man has been charged with numerous offences after he allegedly assaulted an RCMP officer.

Mounties were called to a man causing a disturbance in Polson Park Monday morning where the suspect was said to be yelling, dancing around and hitting walls of the Lawn Bowling Club.

The man fled on foot but was later arrested near Polson Mall for being in breach of conditions.

“Upon taking the male into custody, the male allegedly assaulted a police officer causing the officer to sustain minor injuries,” says RCMP Staff Sgt. Annie Linteau. “The officer received immediate medical treatment for the injuries sustained.”

26 year old Ryan Perreault has been charged with assault of a police officer causing bodily harm, assault with intent to resist arrest, fail to comply with a recognizance and causing a disturbance in a public place.
