A successful fundraiser was held to support the new Foundry North Okanagan facility in Vernon.

Over 80 art pieces were donated from local and regional artists that were then actioned off or sold alongside specialty packages and other items at the Predator Ridge Community Art Show and More event, raising more than $17,000 for the cause.

“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity shown by our community,” Jane Toppozini, event organizer and Predator Ridge community member, said.

“The success of this event reflects how strongly people believe in supporting local youth and families. From the artists who donated their work to the businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who attended, each contribution played a role in making this event such a meaningful success.”

Foundry North Okanagan will be a services hub in Vernon that can connect youth aged 12 to 24 with easier access to integrated mental health, substance use, physical health, social services, and peer supports.

“The success of this event is something our community should be proud of. Raising more than $17,000 is a significant contribution toward bringing Foundry North Okanagan to our region,” Julia Payson, Executive Director of the Canadian Mental Health Association Vernon and District branch, said.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, attended, and contributed artwork. While this support moves us meaningfully closer to our goal, there is still work to be done. We will continue to rely on community support to help open the doors of Foundry North Okanagan and create a lasting resource for youth and young adults who need access to services and support.”

Ground was broken for Foundry North Okanagan in the spring with the goal of having doors open and services available in the summer of 2027.
