Third Kelowna mayoral candidate unlikely to be a contender

Based on past results, the man running as the third mayoral candidate in the Kelowna city council election next month would seem to have very little chance of success.

The name Andrew Uitvlugt appears on the list of candidates and joins Ron Cannan in an attempt to unseat incumbent mayor Tom Dyas.

Uitvlugt, who calls himself a self-employed inventor on his Linkedin account, has offered little in the way of a campaign platform.

In the 2009 byelection he received just 30 of the more than 10,000 votes, and in the 2011 election he posted only 227 votes from over 186,000, making him the last-placed candidate out of the 40 who were running that year.
