Opening of Lavington Outdoor Pool delayed, again

Jul 9, 2026 | 5:29 PM

Once again, people looking to cool off from the summer heat face a delay in accessing a local amenity.

The District of Coldstream said the Lavington Outdoor Pool opening had to be pushed back again.

The pool was expected to open June 27, but mechanical issues were uncovered that forced its opening to first be pushed back to July 6, and then again to Friday, July 10 as the district awaited delivery of necessary parts for the repair.

The opening has now been pushed back, once again, to an undetermined date.

“The District extends its apologies and expresses its sincere appreciation to the community for its patience and understanding as staff work diligently to complete the necessary mechanical repairs and testing,” the municipality said in a release Thursday.

People with questions about how this delay would affect swimming lessons and recreation programming were asked to contact the City of Vernon’s Recreation Services.
