Our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and friend to so many was born in Fleet, Alberta and on June 10, 2026, at 93 passed away peacefully at her home in Vernon with her four children surrounding her.
Louise was predeceased by her parents Frank and Lily Wilson, husband Bert in 2010, her son Allan 1972, and many family members and friends.
She is survived by her children Robert and Lynne Albrecht, David and Leslie Albrecht, Debrah and Ken Friesen, Valerie and Bernie Grages.
She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren with their partners, and 9 great grandchildren, of whom she cherished and loved each and everyone. They made her day with their visits, phone calls and face time visits. Louise also leaves behind siblings Joan, Jeannie, Calvin, Jim and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Louise moved with her family to Vernon in 1947 but still considered herself a prairie girl. She shared her gifts of prairie hospitality, open doors with those she met, through her meals, fruit, baking and especially her Welsh cakes (fondly known as Damm cookies). Mom loved being a Mother and was a Mother to many. She found joy in every moment big or small, a party, a shared meal or chance meeting. Mom lived a life of grace, gratitude and generosity. She saw the best in others always helping those with less.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Louis Boucher and his staff, Team 2 Interior health, Rudy, Amber, Reece and Sara for their professionalism, kindness and empathic care to us all.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday August 23, 2026 from 2pm-4pm at Paddlewheel Hall, 7813 Okanagan Landing Road, Vernon, BC. For catering purposes please RSVP by August 8, 2026 to Louisecelebration2026@gmail.com
