Canada Post to end door-to-door delivery in Central Okanagan communities by 2027
Door-to-door mail delivery is being phased out in parts of Kelowna, West Kelowna and Westbank First Nation as Canada Post moves ahead with a national shift to community mailboxes.
The change is part of a broader rollout announced June 11 that will see hundreds of thousands of addresses across Canada transitioned next year, including about 81,000 in British Columbia.
In the Central Okanagan, Canada Post says most affected addresses will move to community mailbox service as part of a long-term effort to restructure its delivery model.
The corporation says the shift is part of a five-year transformation plan aimed at modernizing operations and addressing ongoing financial pressures.
