West Kelowna RCMP seize firearms, arrest one on Boucherie Road

West Kelowna RCMP say one person is in custody following a police operation Monday that resulted in the seizure of multiple firearms, ammunition and body armour from a home on Boucherie Road.

Police, with support from the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, West Kelowna Crime Reduction Unit and First Nations Policing, executed a search warrant in the 3100 block of Boucherie Road and arrested an individual during the operation.

During the search of the residence, investigators say a large quantity of firearms, ammunition and body armour were seized. RCMP say the investigation remains ongoing, but there is no known risk to public safety.

While officers secured the area, Boucherie Road was temporarily closed between Gregory Road and Oak Barrel Place for about 15 minutes.
