Kelowna council to consider six-storey rental project on Glenmore Drive
City council is set to consider a six-storey rental housing development that would add 71 units to Glenmore Drive under the city’s Middle Income Housing Partnership program.
The proposed project, located at 1232 to 1250 Glenmore Drive, would deliver studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments along with rooftop amenity space, indoor fitness facilities, and both resident and visitor parking.
According to a report going to council, the development is being advanced by Troika Developments in partnership with the City of Kelowna as part of the Middle Income Housing Partnership initiative, which aims to increase purpose-built rental housing. Under the agreement, 40 per cent of the units would be designated as affordable dwelling units, priced at roughly 20 per cent below market rates.
City staff say the proposal aligns with the Official Community Plan and its form and character guidelines for low- to mid-rise residential development.
