Public asked to provide input on plan for Polson Park

Vernon residents are asked to provide their input into the longer term future of Polson Park.

The city is developing the Polson Park Revitalization Plan, with the goal of creating a vision and guide future improvements for the downtown park over the next 20 years.

“Polson Park has long been one of Vernon’s most treasured gathering places, and I’m thrilled to see the revitalization plan move forward to help us build on the incredible improvements we have accomplished to date,” Mayor Victor Cumming stated in a release.

“This plan will guide us in establishing clear priorities and investments over the next 20 years so Polson Park can remain a vibrant centrepiece of our community for years to come.”

Polson Park is the city’s main destination for recreation, culture and community connection, and the new plan would look to ensure the park remains vibrant, inclusive and sustainable for future uses by residents and visitors.

Input on the Polson Park Revitalization Plan can be provided through an Open House at the Vernon Museum from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 9, or through an online survey.

The deadline for members of the public to provide their input is set for May 19, at which point city staff will collect and review all the feedback and share it with council as part of the planning process.
