Julie was born in Terrace, BC and shortly after her birth the family moved to the tiny community of Usk. At a young age they moved again to Smithers where she attended school. After school she met and married her first husband, Norm Ferguson with whom she had two daughters, Marnie (Raymond)and Angela (Kevin) and five grandchildren: Aaron and Adam James, Madison and twins, Ryan and Jonathan Cooke. Predeceased by her parents, Ken and Ona Hubner and brother Roy and sister, Jean. Surviving siblings Karen Foster, Collin Hubner.
In 1997 Julie met and married her current husband, Larry Jones, and together they made their home in Vernon, BC. where they enjoyed many years together. Favourite activities were camping and traveling throughout the Southeastern US States and also holidaying in Maui and Mexico, Julie enjoyed dining out and spending time with friends and family. She loved gardening and growing her own vegetables and cooking and improving recipes with her own ideas. She was an awesome cook! But her deepest love was to be camping somewhere in nature where she would find peace and quiet. Her number one thing to do was camping and exploring other campsites and back roads. She also liked to collect rocks and walking along BX Creek summer or winter. Julie always said that the best summer of her life was spent house sitting at her sister and brother in law’s house at Eagle Bay on the Shuswap. For many years Julie volunteered at the Kelowna Food Bank and a community Thrift Store. She was always open to helping those who were less fortunate with a meal or a ride home when needed.
