Local police are investigating suspicious online activity linked to a high school in Armstrong.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said it was alert to concerning behaviour directed towards students on March 9.

An investigation was immediately launched and resulted in one person being arrested, though they were later released on strict conditions.

“Situations involving a potential threat to the safety of our schools are treated with the highest priority,” Constable Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, said.

“Police, School District 83, and partner agencies have been working together through a structured risk assessment process. As we continue our investigation, it’s important the community knows school and students are safe, and we are working closely in partnership with School District 83 to ensure their continued safety.”
